Je suis de retour en Colombie, Bogota (avion au final). Au programme, un trek (Cocuy) et la côte caribéenne/nord avant de passer en Amérique centrale.

USA/Floride / Cuisine du monde

Clairement, je passais pas en Floride pour l’aspect gastronomique. On peut tout de même bien manger malgré ce que peuvent en croire certains Français 😉
Par contre, la taille des produits et souvent des assiettes est souvent en XXL et comme souvent, ca manque de bons fromage et vins pas cher mais comme presque partout ailleurs, et sinon, bon choix de cuisine internationale.

Tampa, Floride

Arrivée

Tentative de hitchhhike sur la route via Naples (avec une petite douche…) et finalement, en l’absence de résultat, bus de nuit Miami – Tampa via Orlando.

Visite

• Davis island, Downtown, Tampa riverwalk, Bayshore boulevard, (jose gasparilla pirate boat, colombus statue park, tampa convention center)

• University of Tampa, Henry B Plant park, Spanish fort cannons,

• Ybor city: ville du cigare cubain,

• Seminole Hard rock café/hotel/casino pour Cinco de Mayo (mais pas très marqué),

• Wat Mongkolratanaram of Florida (Wat Tampa, thai temple),

• University of South Florida,

• Lettuce park,

• volontariat dans un centre familial multi-culturelle: principalement aide au secrétariat et à l’encadrement d’enfants (plutôt la tranche 7-10 ans).

Plus St Petersburg/Clearwater

• First Friday St Petersburg avec concert/spectacle,

• Tarpon springs: port de pécheurs d’éponge avec influence grecque,

• Egmont key/Fort desoto park + snorkelling: Manatee, raies (volantes???),

• Sunken gardern,

• Clearwater beach,

• Caddy’s beach, Treasure island,

• Kayak dans la mangrove, Weedon island [1].

Pas fait de soirée éclairs comme Tampa est affichée comme « lightening capital of US », que ce soit vrai ou non (W, tampabay.com).

Tried to hitchhike on the road through Naples but without success, switched to night bus Miami – Tampa through Orlando.

• Ybor city: cuban cigar city,

• volunteering in a multi-cultural family center: mostly clerc stuff and helping managing kids/homework (around 7-10y mostly).

News Tampa

Un peu de news: cela fait approximativement un mois, que je suis en Floride. Pas trop occupé de la partie blog courante Floride, mais j’ai presque rattrapé le coin cuisine du blog 🙂 C’est pas exactement la forme que j’espérais lui donner mais au moins, c’est publié avec quelques liens explications/recettes.

Mon séjour aux US se déroule bien même si au final, je ne bouge pas beaucoup (essentiellement concentré sur la zone Miami et Tampa). Malgré quelques bons auto-stops, il reste assez dur de se déplacer sans voiture dans cet état (ou peut-être, faut-il la jouer à la colombienne et demander dans les stations à essence). Dernier point avant la reprise de mon voyage (Colombie et Amérique centrale), un peu de volontariat et un dernier tour pour essayer de trouver un bateau pour la Colombie, sinon retour en avion low-cost.

J’ai eu aussi quelques nouveaux problèmes d’électroniques: l’ordinateur m’a à nouveau fait le coup du mort 3-4j avant de fonctionner à nouveau, et mon objectif reflex est lui aussi à nouveau cassé. Pour ce dernier, n’ayant pas la possibilité d’une réparation temporaire et peu coûteuse comme à Lima (<$50) et ayant un devis de $300 par un centre autorisé Nikon, je suis parti sur le rachat d'un objectif pas cher ($120), ce qui n'est guère difficile ici.

A bit of news: it’s about a month that I arrived in Floriday. Not done much now for the Florida section of the blog, but almost catch up with the world cooking corner 🙂

My trip in US goes well, even if, in the end, I’m not moving a lot (mostly Miami and Tampa area). Even with some (very) good hitchhike, it still complicated to move around without a car in this state (hitchhiking here seems harder than other states or maybe, you need to do it like in Colombia, by asking in gas station). Last thing to do before going back (Colombia, America central), some volunteering and some last check to find a boat to Colombia, else will go with low-cost flight.

I had another round of electronic failures: my computer played the dead for 3-4d before working again, and my main/last lens is broken again. For the latter, I can’t get it repaired for cheap/fast like I did in Lima (<$50), got a free estimate at US$300 from a Nikon authorized center. Instead I bought another lens as it’s possible to get cheap ones ($120) here.
