Arrivée

Malgré mes efforts et report, je n’ai pas réussi à trouver d’autres personnes tenté par l’est canadien en début d’hiver ou même des covoiturages partiels.
Résultat, je suis parti de Montréal en train via Viarail. Première expérience du train canadien, plutôt confortable, technologique (wifi si bien placé/suffisamment près de la voiture restaurant, et prise électrique sur le siège) mais pas à grande vitesse donc 22h de trajet…

Visite

  • Port et front de mer,

  • île Georges (lieu de déportations des Acadiens), musée de l’immigration alias Pier 21,

  • Citadelle d’Halifax,

  • Peggy’s cove: vieux phare (représentant la carte postale typique de Nouvelle-Écosse) et homard :-).

Arrival

After many attempts and days of delay, I didn’t manage to find people travelling to East in this beginning of winter. same with rideshare.
So, I went with Viarail train from Montréal and got my first train experience in Canada. While comfortable and hi-tech (wifi inside depending if you are near enough of the restaurant coach and power plug on the seat), it is not a high speed train and it takes about 22h to go from Montréal to Halifax.

Visit

  • Pier and waterfront,
  • Georges island (where acadian where moved by british), museum of canadian immigration alias Pier 21,
  • Citadel,
  • Peggy’s cove: old lighthouse (certainly the most common postcard of nova scotia) and good lobster :-).
